This Privacy Policy explains how idlesales collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our dead stock and inventory alerting service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to operate the product, integrate with your e-commerce platforms, and support your account.
- Account & Security Data: Name, email address, profile image, authentication details (including OAuth tokens from providers), and session metadata (such as IP address and User Agent) required for security and login management.
- Shopify Store Data: Your store URL (shop domain), Shopify access tokens, and authorized scopes necessary to sync your inventory.
- Inventory & Sales Data: Product variant details (titles, SKUs, pricing, inventory quantities, images, clearance status) and historical sales data (order IDs, sale IDs, quantities sold, total price) to calculate dead stock and slow-moving metrics.
- Application Preferences: Notification settings, alert thresholds (e.g., dead stock days, slow-moving days), and sync frequency preferences.
- Billing Data: Subscription status and billing identifiers. Payment card data is handled securely by our payment processors and is not stored directly by our application.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to operate and improve idlesales:
- To Provide the Service: Syncing your Shopify inventory, calculating days since last sale, identifying dead stock, and monitoring clearance items.
- To Send Notifications: Delivering email and in-app alerts based on your configured thresholds (e.g., critical severity warnings, snooze settings).
- To Secure Your Account: Verifying email addresses, managing active sessions, and protecting against unauthorized access.
- To Improve our Product: Analyzing aggregated, anonymized sync and alert data to optimize our inventory tracking algorithms.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with trusted third parties necessary to operate our service:
- E-commerce Platforms: We communicate with Shopify via their API to read inventory and sales data based on the permissions you grant.
- Service Providers: Hosting, database infrastructure, and transactional email providers required to send you alerts.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you disconnect your Shopify store or delete your account, your associated store data, variants, sales records, and alert settings are automatically and permanently deleted from our primary databases.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information. You can revoke our access to your Shopify store at any time directly through your store's admin panel or within our application settings, which will stop all future data synchronization.
